Our Crackling Gel is a brilliant and innovative gel-based product that is super-versatile. Use it to build up three-dimensional surfaces and create wonderfully tactile textures. Apply a coat of chalk or mineral paint on top, and the paint itself will crack!

Posh Chalk Crackles are designed to create an old, worn, and weathered look when applied to any surface…literally, a finish that has cracks in it! You will find that by using our crackle mediums, you can introduce real character to the project that you are working on, either in specific areas or across the whole piece. Each crackle will be unique in size and shape, giving a wonderful natural feel.

How to Use:

Apply our Crackling Gel generously to a non-absorbent base (primed or painted) and leave to dry. You can gently speed up the drying process with a hair dryer or heat gun. Keep the heating appliance at a safe distance, you dont want to burn your crackling gel.
After the Gel has dried, apply a suitable mineral or chalk paint. The paint will begin to crack as it dries! The size of cracks depends on the thickness of the coat of paint applied.
Leave to dry completely before sealing or adding decoupage to the crackled surface.
